What would make the best golf club in Yorkshire?

Built on the foundations of the past

The Fulford name is known around the world and that recognition is built upon some fantastic days to remember that we have as part of our championship history.

Importantly though, the Fulford Golf Club of today does not exist merely on former glories. We are a Club looking to a successful future and we recognise how lucky we are to have those past foundations as the building blocks.

Undoubtedly, our 20+ years hosting European Tour championship golf are the reason that many know our name. Of course the exploits of Bernhard Langer are still of talked about, and visitors and new members alike stare in disbelief at the famous ash tree at the side of the 17th green. You can relive that famous moment and many more by visiting our Days to remember section.

Our past has given us so much more than a few stories of professional golf though. That commitment to excellence required by the Tour built a body of knowledge within our Greenkeeping Team and a true understanding of the nuances of the land they maintain, that has been handed down.

Before and after Fulford was a regular venue for the best in the world, our course has always been recognised as a true test of golf. Our consistency and focus on quality has given us an enviable reputation amongst members and visitors alike.

That’s also why we are still regularly selected to host some of the most prestigious modern day championships.

Days gone by and days to come

You only need to look down the list of former winners to see the names of some of the worlds best golfers. Those who were victorious competed in fields including winners of major championships and past Ryder Cup Captains, such as; Faldo, Olazabel, Woosnam, Ballesteros and Langer.

More recently Fulford has once again tested some of the country’s best amateur golfers and rising stars and we’re delighted to be hosting the R&A Girls Amateur Championship in 2021.
