There’s so much more than a golf course
Fulford undoubtedly ranks as one of the top golf courses in Yorkshire, but in addition the club offers access to a host of fantastic facilities to members and non-members alike. Take a look at everything the club has to offer.
The Course
Built-in 1935 by Charles McKenzie on land identified by the great James Braid, you probably already know that some of the World’s best golfers visited in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Some had days to remember and some had days to forget!
The foundations of excellence established over that period ensures that the course remains in fantastic condition. It’s a proper test of golf but it’s also a fair one for golfers of all abilities.
Even though it’s only 3 miles from the centre of York, our MacKenzie layout switches effortlessly from green parkland to the gorse, heather and wildlife of a heathland links and it’s in great condition all year round. Maybe you’ll see wild deer roaming across the course or spot our resident barn owls – there’s more than one way to have a day to remember out on the course.

Practice Facilities
Fulford is lucky to have four designated practice grounds, three of which are long enough for you to hit a driver, find your own bit of space and maybe some seclusion too if you want.
Alongside the main car park, there is a shorter warm-up practice ground and short-game practice area with practice bunker. As you’d expect there’s also a practice putting green and you’ll be pleased to know that it’s large and very reflective of the slopes and speeds you’ll find out on the course.
There’s also a whole host of other practice equipment and facilities available through the Professional, who can provide tuition indoors or outdoors.
Professional’s Shop
Guy and his team are always ready with a warm welcome and helpful advice whether you’ve just arrived at the Club and are getting your bearings or you want to talk about equipment or tuition.
The home of our professional team is a well-stocked shop where you can buy Fulford merchandise, choose from a range of top golf brand clothing and equipment and get custom-fitted in their indoor swing studio.
You’ll also be able to book a single or block of golf lessons with the team too. Catering for those wanting to improve or those new to the game, the team run a host of offers on lessons as well as starter courses.

Clubhouse
Whether you are playing golf or not there’s always plenty going on and the clubhouse is the heart of the club.
Visitors and visiting golfers will find a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with smiles and friendly faces from our Clubhouse Team and Fulford members alike. There’s plenty of room to relax in our homely clubhouse – no need for jacket and tie for luncheon and no member-only rooms.
It’s our aim to make sure you feel comfortable and relaxed whilst you are with us.
Drink?
Sit back and enjoy a drink wherever suits you inside or out – the choice is yours. We have a great wine list, local draught beers that are regularly rotated and speciality gins too! What better way to spend a sunny evening than outside on our verandah watching the sun go down over the golfers finishing their rounds.
Eat?
Need something a little more substantial than crisps or nuts? Our kitchen works tirelessly to provide an ever-changing menu of sandwiches, snacks and meals, all cooked by our chefs and the catering team.
Meetings, events and celebrations
Our clubhouse has a number of rooms and areas which are available for use by members.
Whether you need to accommodate just 2 or maybe over 100, we have a whole range of packages and solutions to any event challenge. We’ve also created an area where members can call in and “hot desk” if they need to catch up on emails or do a bit of work.
