At Fulford we are committed to providing the highest levels of support and opportunities for golfers of all ages and abilities – from absolute beginners to elite County players.  We provide 3 tiers of Junior membership which ensures that you can develop your game with the appropriate level of support. Whether you aspire to compete at the highest national and international levels or just want to play socially with your friends, our PGA Professionals and Junior Membership team can help you progress

BIRDIE

Birdie membership is for beginners and open to those with little or no golf experience.  Birdie members receive a Fulford Golf Club quarter zip top and a free coaching session and can participate in weekly group sessions, working through the Golf Foundation Junior Golf Passport with a target of progressing to the EAGLES level.

EAGLE

Eagle members have some golfing experience but are considered ‘pre-course ready’. The goal of the Eagles is to build up technical ability and performance to a point where you are ready to venture out on to the golf course and gain a handicap. Eagle members also receive a Fulford Golf Club quarter zip top and a free coaching session and have access to practice areas.  Eagle members can participate in weekly group sessions and gain a chance to play in the England Golf ‘Golf Sixes’ league. Successfully progressing in this group will open the option of advancing to ALBATROSS membership.

ALBATROSS

Joining as an Albatross member, you’ll be ‘course ready’ with an appreciation of the Rules of Golf and course etiquette and the technical ability to play at least 9 holes on a Championship course.  If you don’t already hold a WHS Handicap certificate, your application will be recommended by a PGA Professional who can attest to your ability.  You’ll be required to gain a full handicap certificate within 1 season, which will give you full access to the course and allow you to compete in a range of Junior competitions, take part in our Order of Merit, represent the club, and have a chance at becoming our Junior Champion Golfer of the Year.  As your game develops and your handicap reduces, you may also have the opportunity to participate in the Adult events, represent the York Union or the County, take part in English Schools Golf events and play in prestigious events around the country.
