LOCAL RULES

1. Out of Bounds (Rule 2)
a) On or over the road to the left of holes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
b) On or over the line determined by the inside points at ground level of white posts along the perimeter of the course, round the green keepers area on the LHS on hole 4 and on the practice ground on hole 18.
c) On or over the pathway in front of the clubhouse that leads from the car park to the 1st Tee.
d) On or over the line determined by the inside points at ground level of white posts around the practice putting and chipping green.
e) Over the boundary hedge or nearest inside points at ground level of the boundary fences.

2. Roads and Paths. All roads and paths with artificial surfaces, sheds and shelters are immovable obstructions and relief can be taken in accordance with Rule 16.1. 

3. Fixed Sprinkler Heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference may be taken under Rule 16.1. The specimen local rule (F-5) under Rules of Golf is adopted and players are also entitled to relief when a sprinkler head intervenes on the line of play provided a) the obstruction is on, or within two club-lengths, of the putting green and b) the ball lies within two club-lengths of the obstruction.

4. 150 yard markers are measured to the centre of the green and are movable obstructions Rule 15 applies.

5. Practice Grounds/Putting Green that are situated within the boundaries of the course may be used by players on the day of competition but a player may not practice on the competition course before play.

6. Protection of Young Trees Identified by Stakes are no play zones. If a player’s ball lies anywhere on the course other than in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.

7. Penalty for Breach of Local Rule:
Match Play - Loss of Hole;
Stroke Play - Two Shots.

9. Current Winter Rule from 10/11/2025

When a player's ball lies in part of the general area cut to fairway height or less and a putter is not being used for the stroke, the player must take free relief by lifting the original ball and placing the original ball or another ball on an artificial mat and play it from there. The mat must be placed on top of the spot where the ball came to rest.

If a ball when placed rolls off the mat, the player must try to place it a second time. If the ball again does not stay on the mat, the mat must be moved to nearest spot, not nearer to the hole, where the ball will come to rest on the mat when placed.

If the ball on the mat is accidentally moved before a stroke is made, there is no penalty and the ball must be placed again on the mat. If a tee is used to secure the mat into the ground, the ball must not be placed on the tee."

10. Current Winter Rule from 21/11/2025

Areas of a fallen tree (including the trunk, large branches, and any associated debris) and any ground where a tree has been removed (e.g., a stump hole) are to be treated as Ground Under Repair (GUR).

In the general area, areas of damage caused by tractors and other similar traffic are treated as ground under repair from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1

Free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1. 

Interference exists if the player’s ball lies in or touches the GUR, or if the GUR interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing.
Penalty for Breach of Local Rule:

Match Play: Loss of hole.
Stroke Play: Two penalty strokes.
